The Last Stretch
After almost 6 straight hours of testing today and 4 ap tests later, I am finally at the moment I was looking so forward to, the moment where I don't have to have a care in the world. Although I've been feeling senioritis for probably at least a month now, there was still the effort I had to put in to try to study for aps. But now it's seriously all over, and this leads me to the first thing I learned: care when you need to and enjoy not caring when you don't have to. Okay but high school is hard so we all deserve the remaining days of school we have left to not care and stress.
A few weeks ago I got an envelope in the mail from my fifth grade teacher and one of the things that was inside was a letter I wrote that year to my future senior year self. Although absolutely nothing I asked myself about (college, friends, etc.) aligns with my life right now lol, it showed me that a lot can change in 7 years. That's one of the things I learned a lot throughout high school. Life is always changing, people will come and go, one week can be peaceful and the next week extremely busy, but that's what makes life exciting.
A few more random things I've learned along the way
- Enjoy the classes that you don't have friends in because it can be the best opportunity for you to make new ones
- Try to be nice to everyone, you only really know most of these people for a short time in your life
- Cherish the small moments and take lots of pictures for the moments at 3 a.m. where you wanna scroll through your camera roll and reminisce
- Work hard but always take breaks
- Take care of your physical and mental health, try to build a routine for yourself
- Don't take anything too serious
